IFETEL Approval

IFETEL (Instituto Federal de Telecomunicaciones) is Mexico's Federal Telecommunications Institute, responsible for regulating products that use technologies such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G/4G, or any Radio Frequency technology. Devices that connect to the PSTN, satellite, and other types of equipment also require IFETEL type approval (previously COFETEL).

In-country testing is mandatory, and in certain cases, the process may include obtaining a valuation letter from an officially approved expert. A local applicant is required for certification. Compliance International can assist with securing approval in Mexico.

NOM Safety Certification

Products that include a battery charger, power supply, or adapter must obtain a NOM Safety certificate. In-country testing is also required for this certification.

Compliance International can assist with securing approval in Mexico for both IFETEL and NOM Safety, contact us for more details about your projects.
