Jordan new type approval regulation

Effective September 15, 2024, the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) of Jordan will enforce a new Type Approval Regulation for telecommunications devices.

Key changes include:

• Certificate Validity: Reduced from 3 years to 1 year.
• Test Reports: Must be from ILAC-accredited labs.
• Modification Applications: Changes to brand names, descriptions, or certificate holder details require modification applications without affecting certificate validity. Changes to model numbers or specifications require new applications.
• Exempted Devices: Laptops, printers, GPS receivers, and desktop computers are exempt but can be approved voluntarily.
• Labelling Requirements: Devices must display the Manufacturer Name, Brand, Model, and IMEI for cellular devices.
