Argentina

In 1816, the United Provinces of the Rio Plata declared their independence from Spain. After Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay went their separate ways, the area that remained became Argentina. The country's population and culture were heavily shaped by immigrants from throughout Europe, with Italy and Spain providing the largest percentage of newcomers from 1860 to 1930. After a period from around the end of World War II to the early 1980s democracy returned to Argentina and has persisted. In January 2013, Argentina assumed a nonpermanent seat on the UN Security Council for the 2013-14 term.

Telecommunications equipment is communications or networking equipment with interface(s) to public network or wide area network (WAN) services. Common telecom network interfaces include T1/E1, ISDN BRI, ISDN PRI, ADSL, serial and analogue PSTN.

Compliance International can help you understand how the following approval requirements apply to your telecom equipment products:

CNC Homologation

The Comisión Nacional de Comunicaciones (CNC) requires approval of telecommunications equipment that connects to the public network and all radio transmitters. Approval generally requires in-country testing and a local Argentinian applicant.

Compliance International can help you complete CNC approval in Argentina with our turnkey support service, which includes building the technical application package, engineering test support when in-country testing is required, interfacing with regulatory officials, and end-to-end management of the approval process. We can provide the required local applicant for clients who lack a local presence.

S-Type Certification (Type Approval)

There are several safety certification paths in Argentina. S-Type certification (Type Approval) can be issued based on review of a CB report, but has more frequent market surveillance requirements than S-Mark certification. A sample must still be provided for visual inspection.
